CSX Dash 9s: Dash 9s?
CSX Dash 9s: Dash 9s?

Sure, it looks like a Dash 9. But, if you look closely, you will see that the trucks are the same as those of its Dash 8 cousins.
and i happen to know that CSX specified them as Dash 8-44CWs. What do you think?

It's a Dash 9...but with Dash 8 trucks. Maybe it's a Dash 8.5!

csx cw944c motors had dash 8 trucks. csx didn't go for the newer trucks untill the ac4400s. even with them they changed again to the radial trucks somewhere around unit 201???.
i had to change the sideframes on a kato dash 9 44 because the mocel had the newer sideframes
hope this forums takes off since most forums are for up and other west coast roads.
